Welcome to Immanuel Lutheran School (IMLUS), Lae .
Established in 1979, Immanuel Lutheran School is a Christian-based educational institution located in Lae, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Our mission is to provide quality, faith-based education and second-chance opportunities for students through flexible, inclusive learning.
We are a registered provider of the Flexible Open Distance Education (FODE) program, helping students who have dropped out after Grade 8 or 10 to complete their education and prepare for future careers.

About Us
Our History
Immanuel Lutheran School was founded by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1979 as a mission to restore hope through education. Over the years, the school has helped hundreds of students restart and complete their academic journeys.
Our Mission

Christian Foundation
Faith is at the core of everything we do. Daily devotions, chapel services, and Christian education are integrated into student life to shape moral values and spiritual growth.

We deliver core academic subjects under the FODE curriculum:

Vocational Training (Coming Soon)
With support from the Lae City Authority, a new Vocational Training Centre is being developed to equip students with:
- Carpentry
- Electrical work
- Sewing & tailoring
- Agriculture & gardening
- ICT skills
Flexible Learning Pathways
Students may study full-time or part-time, depending on their individual needs and commitments.

Faith & Discipline
Immanuel Lutheran School promotes Christian discipline, respect for self and others, and peaceful conflict resolution. In 2012, our students made headlines by initiating a peace pact to end inter-school violence.
Cultural & School Events
Our 40th anniversary in 2019 showcased our cultural roots and student talents with a 3-day celebration featuring:
